Materials provenance

Every material comes with a chain-of-custody certificate.

Interior cladding
Canadian hemlock PEFC chain-of-custody certified. Sourced from British Columbia, kiln-dried at the production base, milled to 21 mm T&G on site.
Exterior cladding
Thermowood pine Heat-treated to ThermoWood-D class at 190°C. Spruce sourced from Northern Europe; treatment at the Black Forest base, finishing at the order's assigned base.
Insulation
Rock-wool, 80 mm Rockwool brand. λ 0.034 W/mK. Energy Rating A, officially verified.
Roof membrane
EPDM single-ply rubber Carlisle SynTec EPDM. 50-year manufacturer warranty.
Steel structural frame
Reinforced cold-rolled steel European-spec galvanised steel. Fabricated to ISO 17654 (sauna structural).
Glazing
Tempered safety glass EN 12150 certified. Panoramic + sliding door. Toughened to 4× standard glass strength.
Hardware
Stainless steel 304-grade Marine-grade 316 for any coastal-exposure install (within 5 km of saltwater).
Heater
HUUM Drop 6 kW Estonian-engineered by a three-generation stove-making family. JSON API via HUUM UKU. Olivine stones (~30–35 kg).
Foundation
Helical-pile steel screw Six Ø 76 mm piles, 1.5–2.5 m embedment. Reversible — unscrews without leaving concrete behind.
Materials, asymmetric

Three materials carry the cabin.

Every material chosen for thirty-year heat-cycle survival. Every supply chain documented before the cabin leaves the production base.

Never. Off-gases formaldehyde at heat.
PVC
Never. Off-gases at heat.
Particle board
Never. Cannot survive the heat-humidity cycle.
Plywood
Never. Inferior to solid timber for sauna interiors.
Generic plastic moldings
Never. Stainless steel hardware throughout.
