Spa FAQ

Five questions before the dossier

  • How does it integrate with our booking system?

The HUUM JSON API can be scoped against session booking webhooks. We prepare reference integration scopes for Mindbody and Booker during the dossier stage, then map the exact booking objects your account uses. For Vagaro, Squarespace Scheduling, or in-house systems, your engineering team or systems integrator reviews the same API before we commit to an integration plan.

  • How does the sauna fit into a treatment flow?

Spa directors usually evaluate it as a 30–45 minute pre-treatment opening to warm guests before massage, or as a recovery step at the end of a treatment cycle. Some pair it with a cold-plunge fixture on the same outdoor terrace. The dossier carries a treatment-menu pricing template you can adapt to your own therapist schedule and room utilisation.

  • Does the sauna need staff in the cabin?

No. The cabin is self-service for the booked session window. Your reception team manages the booking, towels, and the cooling-area handoff (often a covered outdoor terrace adjacent to the cabin). Heater controls are pre-set by HUUM's UKU integration — guests don't adjust temperature mid-session.

  • What is the cleaning and hygiene protocol?

Standard spa-grade hygiene SOP: a 10-minute turnaround between sessions to wipe down benching with a sauna-rated cleaner, dry the floor, and reset the bucket / ladle / towel set. The cabin's interior (Canadian hemlock + olivine stones) is engineered for daily commercial use; the materials don't retain odour or moisture between sessions. Detailed SOP in the dossier.

  • Can we offer co-ed and gendered sessions?

Yes — the cabin holds 4–5 bathers. Many of our spa operators run mixed sessions during off-peak, gendered sessions during peak, and family / friend group bookings on weekends. The HUUM scheduling is per-session, not per-time-block, so you can mix policies through the day.
